Yarntopia

Want to learn to knit or crochet?  Yarntopia is here to help.  We teach basic skills in private classes so that we can guide you personally to success.

Basic skills classes can include (but not limited to):

• Knitting - cast on, knit, purl, bind off, change colors, seaming, shaping with increases and decreases, fixing mistakes, reading knitted fabric, reading patterns
• Crochet - basic stitches, how fabric is created, shaping with increases and decreases, crochet in the round, pattern reading, seaming 

We prefer to schedule these one hour sessions on Wednesday or Friday mornings, or Tuesday evenings.  We are flexible and can schedule at other times.  The cost is $20 per one hour session.

Every month we will add new projects designed for you to have fun and learn something new.  For more information, from the calendar page, click on the class for a full description, cost, materials, and a photo when available.

Project Classes for March

• Citron - an adorable shawlette from knitty.com.
• Winding Road Scarf - You will begin with a long crocheted strip, then Sheryl will guide you through crocheting freestyle and pattern free.
• All Shawl - This pattern is a Doris Chan design and it can be found free on her website.  Sheryl is making hers with a laceweight yarn but you can make yours with any weight of yarn you would like.  The basic shawl is quite easy (you will learn to do foundational and extended stitches).  The border is a bit more of a challenge, but Sheryl will walk you through it.

• Unless specified in the class description, yarn for all classes must be purchased at Yarntopia.
• You may bring your own needles or hooks.
• Class fee is required to hold your space in class
• Class fees are nonrefundable, however, we will help you find another class if you are unable to make it when scheduled.
